Shootings claim lives of Northeast residents

Shootings in the Northeast claimed two lives and wounded another person early this week. Meanwhile, a Northeast resident died after being shot in Kensington.

The latest incident occurred on the 2800 block of Sebring Road, near Welsh and Willits roads, at about 1:38 a.m. on Tuesday, Philadelphia police said. An unknown gunman shot Sean Neal, 23, and Lauren Fenningham, 18, inside Neal’s residence. Fenningham, of Princeton Avenue near Frankford Avenue, suffered a head wound and was pronounced dead at the scene. Neal suffered a wound of the abdomen and was taken to Aria Health-Torresdale, where he died shortly after 5 p.m. Tuesday, police said.

A shotgun may have been used in the attack, but a motive is not known. Police have identified no suspects.

At about 11 p.m. on Monday, an East Frankford man was shot and killed on the 700 block of E. Allegheny Ave. in Kensington. Police found Thomas Samarco, 37, of the 5000 block of Worth St., on the ground with wounds of his shoulder and back. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Information about the shooter and his motive is unknown, police said.

On Sunday at about 11 p.m., a 36-year-old man suffered wounds of the stomach, thigh and hand in a shooting on the 2100 block of Simon St. in Wissinoming. Police did not release the victim’s identity. He was hospitalized at Hahnemann University Hospital in stable condition.

Police said that a group of teenage males may have been involved in the shooting, including one described as 15 or 16 years old, black, with an unknown height, thin build, short black hair and wearing a blue shirt with red printing on it. He was riding a bicycle. ••
